RULES AND REGULATIONS
These rules put before you are designed to benefit you and your fellow class members as well as the teacher. Without your total coherence to these rules you will be infringing on the rights of the others in your class. These are designed to give you an idea of the expected behavior and grading in the Ag-Education classes. The adherence to these rules will ensure that any unnecessary disciplinary action will not be focused upon you. This disciplinary action will follow the outline in the student handbook regarding detentions and parental contact. You are here in order to learn, teachers are here to teach. Do not deprive yourself or others of the learning process.

STUDENT EXPECTATIONS FOR INTRO CLASS
1. During class discussions:
a. Participate fully in discussion.
b. Ask questions by raising hands and being acknowledged.
c. Allow others in class to view their opinions.
2. During class lectures:
a. Listen to the presenter.
b. Takes notes over information being presented.
c. Ask questions by raising hands and being acknowledged.
3. During group projects:
a. Involve all members.
b. Be flexible!
c. Think of others feelings too.
d. Stay on task.
4. During computer activities:
a. Be patient.
b. Don't pound on computer.
c. No drinks or food near computers.
5. During lab activities:
a. Practice safety.
b. Work on your own project.
c. Put all tools you have used away.
d. Clean up your area every day after working on project!
e. Ask your instructor for advice, if you are having problems.
f. If you break something, tell the instructor so that it can be fixed.
6. While completing quizzes and tests:
a. Do your own work! You will be warned once and after that the grade will be recorded as a zero.
b. Raise hand and ask instructor for help--not your neighbor!
c. If you finish early, turn your test in and do as instructed.
d. No talking!
7. While watching video activities:
a. Do not ask to leave the room.
b. Do not talk.
c. Pay attention to key points.
d. Take notes if necessary.
8. While participating in field trips:
a. Act like adults.
b. Pay attention to the task at hand.
c. Respect others willingness to learn.
GENERAL RULES FOR ALL AG-EDUCATION CLASSES
1. Be on time to class.
2. Be prepared for class. (Assignments done, paper and writing utensil, etc.)
3. Report all accidents to the teacher immediately.
4. If you must leave the room for any reason, ask the instructor before doing so.
5. All student handbook rules will be in effect and enforced.
6. Be courteous to your peers at all times.
Additional rules may arise out of necessity or occasion. These will be announced at that time. The instructor of the class will determine when new rules need to be established and when the rules are being broken.
GRADING SYSTEM: The grading system for this class be based as follows.
100-90% A, 89-80% B, 79-70% C, 69-60% D, and 59% and below is an F.
Grades will be based on homework, quizzes, tests, lab activities daily participation and various other items.
Daily grades will be based on your adherence to classroom rules. These include attitude, involvement in class discussion, being on task, and adding to the class. This daily grade is based at approximately 10 % of your grade.
Homework turned in after grading will receive no credit. Exceptions may be made at the teacher’s discretion after a parent/guardian contacts the teacher with an explanation of the circumstances. Late grades for activities will be deducted at 10% per day late.
ABSENCE POLICY: If you are absent from class it is your responsibility to find out what you have missed. If you missed notes or lecture, you may get them from the teacher or another student. If you missed a quiz or test, you need to make arrangements with the instructor to complete these assignments. If no arrangements are made within one week, the assignment will be recorded as a zero.
